Description
Most notable in their emotional intensity, conveyed through the use of bright and bold colors, bold brushstrokes and dynamic composition, Hayman's paintings often allude to figures and landscapes, but they are not realistic, rather abstracted and distorted. Her work is often compared to the works of the Fauvist and the Expressionists painters, due to her use of color and brushwork.
With its vivid contrasting color shifts and thick painterly textures, Blue Rumble is a marvelous and energetic canvas, typical in its bursts and flourishes of color and attention to detail. It has a great energy but what is especially appealing is the mass of blue on the left, the eponymous Blue Rumble.
