Description
Well known for his abstract landscape paintings, Tam captures the rugged coastline of Monhegan her in White Sea, Monhegan. He is using varying shades of white to convey what he saw before him under the intense light of the sun. Interesting to note that this may have been his own artistic approach to capturing the “glare aesthetics” of the sun at a particular moment on the water. The piece is meant to suggest what we have all seen and reacted to in a pared down memory of light, waves, shimmering light and rock.
