Description
Chackrobarty’s artistic approach often challenges traditional notions of identity and form, creating a constant visual flux and blending contemporary and traditional elements. Here in Untitled, Chakraborty uses a mandala as the main component of his composition. Mandalas – “circle” or “sacred center” represent the universe, wholeness, unity, infinity and timelessness. Chakraborty confronts traditional notions of identity and form by using this layered imagery that invites storytelling through a mosaic-like pattern with mythic analogies. Using rich color and detail to depict these figures, the artist shifts the narrative and invites the viewer to contemplate the interconnectedness between each image and the whole composition.
